- Expanding vocabulary related to everyday life and work (e.g. food, travel, expressions of time)
- Expanding knowledge of the grammatical structures of Finnish (locative cases, taytyy, parts of speech)
- Practice situations related to everyday tasks and social life (shopping, medical visits)

Evaluation
The course requires regular attendance, active participation in class and completion of homework assignments. Written examination and oral test. The weight given to the various assignments in the final grade is specified at the start of the course.

Teaching time
13.5.−1.7.2025. Teaching hours online on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 18.30-20.30. NB. No teaching on Thursday 29.5.2025.

Teaching hours are carried out in Zoom. Teaching hours are not recorded. Students are expected to be present at the lectures.

Examinations 

Written and oral examination

Course examination will be held on Tuesday 8.7.2025
Re-examination will be held on Thursday 7.8.2025. Please register in Sisu 6.8.2025 at the latest. 

The examinations will be held as a remote examinations in MyCourses. The teacher will give further information on examinations.

Oral examination time will be given by the teacher.

This course is organized by the Aalto University Open University. The requirements of the course are the same as in the degree studies at Aalto University Language Centre.

The number of participants is limited to 30.
Please note that this course is organized when there are at least 12 students registered for it.

To be able to enter campus premises and classrooms you need the student access token of Aalto University. You can get the student access token from campus lobby services. The access token need to be activated with your Aalto account and password before you can use it.
