Measuring chamber studies showed that water aerosols can carry chemicals that do not evaporate under normal indoor conditions. The chemicals are placed on the chamber floor. When the air is humidified, TVOC sensors detect them in the air and they can also be detected in water that is condensed from the air with a cooling element using analysers.
