The course introduces critical approaches to design addressing it as an evolving, political and activist field. It gives an introduction to different practices of critical design including speculative design, transition design, design activism, anti-fashion and their theoretical and historical foundations.

Darkrooms at Väre and Otakaari 1X
Otaniemi campus has two darkrooms, designed for the development of photos and black-and-white films, which can be booked for course teaching activities and for use by students.
Darkrooms are closed during summertime between 14.6.-5.8.2019
