The new Global Management M.Sc. programme gives students a unique opportunity to simultaneously acquire two highly prestigious qualifications, M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration granted by Aalto University School of Business, and CEMS Master’s in International Management (MIM) granted by CEMS, the Global Alliance in Management Education.

Starting in academic year 2017/2018 (first application period from December 2016 to January 2017), the Global Management programme consists of CEMS MIM studies conducted at Aalto University and at another CEMS school, and a specialization track in one of the following focus areas:

  • Accounting,
  • Corporate Communication,
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management,
  • Finance,
  • Management and International Business,
  • Marketing, or
  • Strategy

During their first M.Sc. year, students complete the specialisation track courses and their Master’s thesis. The second year, the ‘MIM year’, includes an exchange semester at another CEMS university, CEMS courses, an extensive business project, and seminars familiarising students with skills required in working life. Additionally, all students complete an international internship.

The Global Management study experience is characterized by intensive collaboration among the diverse members of the network: bright students, active alumni, accomplished academics, international companies, and more.

CEMS is a global alliance of academic and corporate institutions that jointly provide the CEMS Master’s in International Management (MIM). 30 academic CEMS institutions and over 70 corporate and social members of the CEMS network collaborate deeply to educate and prepare future generations of international business leaders ‒ developing knowledge and providing education that is essential in the multilingual, multicultural and interconnected business world.

Aalto University School of Business (previously Helsinki School of Economics) has been the Finnish member of the CEMS network since 1998.

Until now, the CEMS MIM programme has been available as an additional study option linked to any Aalto Master's Programme. Students already enrolled in Aalto University have been eligible to apply for the one-year ‘crown-model’ CEMS MIM (66 ECTS) completed in parallel with their regular MSc studies. This option is available for the last time in the December 2016‒January 2017 application round.
