Sustainability Hub starts 1 Jan 2018

Welcome on board!

The Aalto Sustainability Hub “ASH” will increase multidisciplinary collaboration and promote sustainability in research, teaching, campus development and other operations at Aalto. The Hub builds on Aalto´s earlier work with the theme. The Hub will formally start operations as of 1st of Jan 2018, but actually this fall has been full of activities already.

Mayday Mayday - Aalto Sustainability Day 18th of May 2018, Dipoli

 Hub's inaugurational event will take place in Dipoli, Otaniemi Friday 18 May 2018 as part of the Aalto Festival weeks. The Day´s theme asks how to tackle complex sustainability challenges with transdisciplinary innovations.  will comprise of keynotes and discussions, academic sessions, campus walks, exhibitions and plenty of networking and sustainable encounters. Mayday Mayday will celebrate the diversity of Aalto´s sustainability research, teaching and outreach activities. We will ask for your contributions in several ways like presentations, papers, posters and course collaboration.

Other events coming up – save-the-date

-          ASH seminar presenting Aalto ENG sustainability research will be Wed 24 January 2018, at 14-16 in Learning center (ex-library), Otaniemi. The discussions will continue after 4pm informally at the new beer brewery restaurant in Otaniemi

-          ܲ´18: ASH seminar presenting Aalto ELEC sustainability research - date will be confirmed soon

-          Ѳ´18: ASH seminar presenting Aalto SCI sustainability research - date will be confirmed soon

ASH board, working groups, website updated & wiki

The Hub is led by ASH board with professor members from all six schools, with professor as the director. Hub´s activities are coordinated by and . Also is part of the Hub. Likewise a working group of sustainable services will continue and focus in improving our operations. In addition, ACRE is coordinating a group on campus sustainability.

Join the ASH mailing list

A mailing list for Aalto Sustainability Hub (ASH) was established in Sept´17 with currently more than 300 recipients. The list is open for all Aalto staff members interested in sustainability issues and the address is aalto-ash@aalto.fi.

Contact Annukka or Meri if you want to check your membership, unsubscribe or add a colleague. By following the list you will stay updated on ASH and sustainability-related events, funding opportunities, call for papers and other interesting stuff. Share also your sustainability activities!
