Accessibility of Computer Science building
Computer Science building is mainly used for computer science teaching and research (Konemiehentie 2).
The accessible entrance to CS building is on the side of the building, to the right of the main entrance towards Konemiehentie 4, around the corner. The door opens with a button (access token needed). Please contact lobby services if needed. The thresholds of the accessible entrance are marked with contrast stickers.
The main lobby is spacious and well-lit, with enough free space inside and outside the door for easy movement, e.g. with a wheelchair. The lobby service point and elevators are accessible by wheelchair. The elevator is located in the main lobby next to the dining line, and there are no other signs to the elevator except the sign on the side of the elevator. No voice guidance. Buttons at a suitable height.
The accessible toilet is next to the elevator in the main lobby.
Parking and arrival
There are three parking spaces for people with disabilities in the parking lot behind the CS building. The accessible entrance (L) is about 60 meters from the parking lot. There are no signs to the entrance from the parking lot, and the view is not unobstructed.
There is no separately marked drop-off point, but escort traffic can stop temporarily in front of the main door (of which about 40 meters to the accessible entrance, to the right of the main door and around the corner) or behind the building where the official parking spaces are. This is where you can stop in front of the accessible entrance. The route is spacious and clear.
Induction loops
There is not an induction loop in the main lobby of CS Building.
