Accessibility of Undergraduate Centre

The Undergraduate Centre is located at Otakaari 1.
The main entrance to the Undergraduate Centre is accessible, main entrance door opens automatically with a button. There is a ramp on the right side of the stairs to bypass the stairs at the main entrance. In addition to the main entrance, accessible automatic doors are N door, Z door, as well as doors T, U and U1. Accessible entrances are marked on the map below (pdf).
Routes are not marked with texture stripes. Lighting is good at the main door but is poor at the accessible doors at the back of the building. There is no lighting near the U-wing. Entrances do not have sound assistance, nor is there a texture stripe on the ground leading to them.
The main lobby is spacious and well-lit, with sufficient free space both inside and outside the door for movement, e.g., with a wheelchair. The lobby service point and lifts are wheelchair accessible. The lift to upper floors nearest to the main lobby is located in the Y-wing and can be reached using a wheelchair lift at first. Please contact lobby services first to use the wheelchair lift. The lift has voice guidance and buttons at a suitable height. The building also has other accessible lifts with voice guidance.
Accessible toilet facilities are available in almost every wing (except the H-wing). The accessible toilet in the lobby is located in the Y-wing near the wheelchair lift and accessible lift.

Parking and arrival
There are two parking spaces for people with reduced mobility in front of the main door, approximately 30 meters from the door.
In addition, there are two parking spaces by the U-wing, approximately 15 meters from the nearest accessible door. Behind the building, there are 3 parking spaces for people with reduced mobility, approximately 20-25 meters from the nearest accessible door.
There is no separately marked stopping point for escort services, but vehicles can stop temporarily in front of the main door (of which approximately 30 meters to the accessible entrance) or behind the building near the parking spaces for people with reduced mobility. The route is spacious and clear.
