Engineered Nanosystems
The group develops semiconductor devices for efficient energy conversion, including:
-
Heat into light (electroluminescent cooling) + Heat into electrical power (thermophotonic power generation)
-
Chemical energy into electrical power (chemovoltaic energy conversion)
-
Electrical power into light (diffusion-driven devices)
-
Metalorganic vapour-phase epitaxy (MOVPE) of III-V materials
The research is supported by a broad range of scientific and technological activities, including mathematical modelling, semiconductor material growth and processing, as well as the development and automation of experimental techniques.
