Engineered Nanosystems

The group develops semiconductor devices for efficient energy conversion, including:
  • Heat into light (electroluminescent cooling) + Heat into electrical power (thermophotonic power generation)

Electroluminescent cooling (ELC) and thermophotonic power generation (TPX)
  • Chemical energy into electrical power (chemovoltaic energy conversion)

Chemovoltaic energy conversion
  • Electrical power into light (diffusion-driven devices)

Diffusion Driven Devices (DDS)
  • Metalorganic vapour-phase epitaxy (MOVPE) of III-V materials

Metalorganic vapour-phase epitaxy (MOVPE)

The research is supported by a broad range of scientific and technological activities, including mathematical modelling, semiconductor material growth and processing, as well as the development and automation of experimental techniques.
