The green transition and sustainable development principles are increasing the demand for mineral-based materials worldwide. Recycling metals is an important part of the solution, but it is not enough to meet the growing demand. In the future, minerals will still need to be mined from the depths of the earth responsibly and efficiently.
The European Mining Course (EMC) trains knowledgeable professionals to meet this globally significant challenge. The Master's programme offers a unique international study experience lasting two years and including one semester of studies at each of the three top universities:
- Aalto University, Finland
- RWTH Aachen, Germany
- Technical University of Leoben, Austria
The final semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis, which can be completed at any of the participating universities or within the industry.
Graduates of the EMC programme receive a degree certificate from each participating university and are ready to influence the future of the mining industry.
Do you want to be part of shaping a sustainable future and develop your expertise in an international environment?
Welcome to the webinar for applicants on 15 January at 14:00 EET to learn more!
European Mining Course, Master of Science (Technology)
The need of mineral-based materials is growing globally, partly related to the new green technology. Applications such as windmills and electric vehicles need traditional metals, but also many high-tech metals that support the environmentally sustainable future. Re-use of metals is important part in the materials cycle, but it will not satisfy the increasing demand of metals. Minerals need to be extracted from the earth’s crust far into the future. The European Mining Course (EMC) aims to train experts who possess wide-ranging skills and abilities to respond to this demand.
