'Finland: zoom in, zoom out' exhibition

Finland's nature is our greatest treasure, an everyday luxury that grounds, balances, and inspires us. It whispers to us with its landscapes and details, inviting us to witness its wonders, only if we have time to look around. Join us for an exploration of Finland through the eyes of two visual artists—Lidia Rauramo and Valeria Azovskaya, Aaltonians by training and occupation.
'Finland: zoom in, zoom out' exhibition by Valeria Azovskaya and Lidia Rauramo. Photo of wheat ready for harvest and the fresh water flow in shallow creek and beautiful painting of the Finnish landcape.

The exhibition offers a space for contemplation, encouraging you to see the nuances, shapes, and shades of Finnish nature both broadly and intimately. Something that we often miss within the course of our busy life.

Lidia conveys through her painting the elusive beauty of Finnish nature from a distance. It might make you feel small and nature vast, but this is the goal. Her paintings aim to show that beyond ourselves lies a big and enigmatic world.

Valeria's photography highlights the intricate details hidden within these landscapes. Her work reveals the easy-overlooked beauty of mosses, lichens, budding pine sprouts, and vibrant spring blooms. These elements, familiar to all who cherish the outdoors, showcase the richness of subtlety—a reminder of the gentle wonders found in our daily commutes or during a walk through the city or forest.

Together, our exhibition invites you to celebrate the essence of Finnish nature. We hope you will join us and experience the varied yet harmonious interpretations of our shared source of inspiration.

Welcome!
