Opin.fi is a collaborative service by Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences, offering a diverse selection of open courses available to everyone. The new platform launched this April, with marketing directed at learners set to begin in May. This spring, it includes participation from 29 Finnish higher education institutions, including Aalto University.

The beta phase of the Opin.fi service has ended. Thanks to more than 13,000 learners who tested the service!

The beta version of Opin.fi has found a good number of users: feedback can still be given before the beta version closes
Learners have quickly found the beta version of Opin.fi, which was launched in October. Since the service has reached its user and feedback targets, the beta version is potentially being shut down as early as December. The official launch of the service is expected to take place in April.

We are now looking for academics who are interested in sharing their created content or materials with a wider audience on the Opin.fi service! Explore the training where the basics of Opin.fi are explained. You will also know how to add non-credit-bearing study options to the service.

Autumn 2024 Opin.fi Trainings
We are organizing training sessions related to Opin.fi service in the autumn semester of 2024. The trainings will focus particularly on informal and non-formal offerings such as events and other content. Target group is mainly academics and LES.

Opin.fi implementation is progressing, and the first demo videos of the service have been released
The schedule for the launch of Opin.fi has been clarified regarding the offerings to be included in the service. The progress of the launch can also be tracked through the 'logbook' on aalto.fi, where we will update the most important current news about the launch of Opin.fi. Additionally, getting to know the service is now easier, as videos showcasing the learner's and administration's views of the interface have been released.

Digivisio 2030 transforms the future of learning through opin.fi
Finnish universities have united their efforts in the Digivisio 2030 project to build the future of learning, with its first manifestation being the opin.fi website tailored to the needs of lifewide learners. The service is set to be released first as a beta version in fall 2024 and fully in spring 2025.

Aalto University participates in Digivisio 3.0 pilot
The Digivisio project office offered all the 2.0 pilot HEIs the opportunity to continue to the 3.0 pilot, which takes place between Q1/2024-Q1/2025. Aalto is involved in the 2.0 pilot as part of the FITech network university until Q1/2024 and continues independently with its own funding to the 3.0 pilot.

Digivisio 2030's new e-learning courses now available
The latest e-learning training course provide the tools to plan even higher-quality and more varied learning content, especially for continuous learners. The courses are specifically designed to support the work of teaching and support staff at higher education institutions.
