Maximum of 7 students from School of Arts, Design and Architecture are admitted yearly to the minor.

Attachments to the application:
- Motivation letter (max 1 A4)
- Digital art portfolio with 3–5 works (sculptures, installation etc, indicate the year) of which one should be a sketch or drawing
- Personal study plan (PSP/HOPS), which is made in Sisu and attached to the application form
- Transcript of records
Selection criteria: We are looking for a wide interest in working with sculpture and 3d, their sites, surroundings and contexts.

Description of the minor
The minor gives the student an opportunity to study sculpture through one's own artistic practice. Skills that students can apply in their own fields are emphasised, such as how to research new materials, working methods, methodologies, but also sites surroundings, contexts, conceptualizing and communicating of ideas through art are discussed.
Intended learning outcomes
After the sculpture minor studies students have the tehcnical skills needed to work with contemporary sculpture and design. The students have got acquainted with the multifaceted field of contemporary sculpture through professional artists thought and practice. Students have developed their relationship with sculpture by experimenting with it using methods and materials that are personally interesting and motivating. After the course the students are able to adapt the new tools to their own fields of studies in a sustainable way.

Students complete 18 ECTS compulsory studies.
Please note that the compulsory course "Ways of Making 1" is taught during the summer period, in the end of August.
