2197 new undergraduate students admitted ÄûÃʵ¼º½ University – congratulations!

Results of the joint application for higher education have been published in the Studyinfo service.

Admission results of the joint application to Finnish/Swedish degree programmes for Aalto University have been published on 7 July 2020 in the Studyinfo service. The applicants can check their admission results by logging into the My Studyinfo service at .

More than 12 200 applicants applied ÄûÃʵ¼º½ University’s study options in Finnish and Swedish during the application period that ended in early April out of which 1851 were selected. 1353 applicants were accepted to the field of science and technology, 122 to the field of arts and design and 376 to field of business and economics. The number of applications for the Finnish and Swedish options increased by 12 % compared to last year. 66 % of these applicants chose Aalto as their first preference.

Over 2500 people applied to the English study options in the joint application to higher education in January out of which 346 were chosen. There was a remarkable 55 % increase in the amount of applications for the English study options.

This year, the most popular study option was the undergraduate programme in the field of business and economics. From the field of science and technology the most popular study options were computer science and industrial engineering. From the field of arts and design the most popular study options were visual communication design and art education.

This year, Aalto University increased the number of study places by 200 due to the situation caused by the coronavirus. In the field of science and technology, the number of places increased by 150, in business and economics by 35, of which 5 places are via the open university route, and in art and design by 15.

Congratulations on your success!’, says Petri Suomala, Vice President of Education at Aalto University.

Some applicants have been admitted based on their studies in the Aalto University Open University. Open university tracks are available for specific study options in the fields of technology and business and economics. The registration for the open university tracks is open year-round.

Aalto University also received 94 applications for the transfer application process out of which 20 students were admitted. There was an increase of 162 % in the number of applications. The field of business and economics was especially popular in the transfer application process.

The national Studyinfo service grants each admitted applicant one study place. The Studyinfo placing procedure covers all joint applications to universities and universities of applied sciences, and it will end on 31 July 2020.
