A! Walk-Nature connection: Walk, pick, discuss
On July 18th, a group of nature enthusiasts embarked on a memorable afternoon adventure on Lehtassari Island. Their journey began with a leisurely walk from the oak tree to a hidden "treasure spot" on the island.
Upon arriving, they immersed themselves in the rich Finnish forest, which generously provided an array of natural delights. They foraged for berries, savouring the fruits of the forest and revelling in the simple and primal joy of discovery. They felt the abundance of nature and the pleasure of connecting with the community.
Their time together was not just about exploring the island but also about celebrating friendship and sharing life experiences. As they enjoyed the serene beauty of their surroundings, they highly praised the splendid Finnish summer and reflected on the value of these moments and the magnificence of the Finnish wilderness.
This charming outing on Lehtassari Island was more than just an excursion; it was a celebration of nature, friendship, and the enriching experience of embracing the outdoors.
A! Walk
A! Walks is a summer course centered around walking-based learning, exploring Otaniemi campus and its surrounding urban–natural spaces. Rather than standalone lectures or experiments, the program is designed as a curated sequence of sensory, interdisciplinary walks, guiding participants toward experiences in coexistence, awareness, action, and futures. If successful, A! Walks may be continued during the regular semester.
