Aalto Digital Creatives has launched Art & Tech Open Call for a development grant for creative industry projects
Aalto Digital Creatives has launched the Art & Tech Open Call for a development grant which seeks audiovisual, design, gaming and other cutting-edge projects where digital technology is used to fuel the creative industries. Applications are encouraged from teams who are prepared to produce a prototype or a demo of their project.
At the Art & Tech Open Call Demo Day event on Friday 8.4.2022 at Roihupelto Studios it is possible to find out more about the opportunities the open call has to offer. Aalto Studios’ state-of-the-art production facilities and equipment will be showcased at the event. The event is free and open to everyone.
The winning projects will receive a development grant between EUR 5000 – 25 000 per project. In addition, the winners will be able to make use of Aalto Studios’ state-of-the-art research and teaching infrastructure. The call is open for students, artists, researchers, startups and other creative industry practitioners.
The project proposals could focus on, but are not limited to, the following topics: new methods and formats for audiovisual storytelling; technology-enhanced art, design and entertainment; augmentation of human creativity through computational methods or creation of novel interactive experiences. The deadline for project proposals is Monday 2.5.22.
The Art & Tech Open Call partners with the City of Helsinki, AVEK, Yle and Genelec. This year’s Art & Tech Open Call collaborates with Aalto Digital Creatives program which is a part of a campus incubators network supported by the City of Helsinki.

Aalto Digital Creatives pre-incubator programme aims to help creative industry students, researchers and practitioners on their path towards entrepreneurship. The programme is supported by the City of Helsinki and it’s part of Helsinki-based higher education institutions’ campus incubators network. Aalto Digital Creatives programme is coordinated by Aalto Startup Center and Aalto Studios.
