Aalto film students awarded at the HIFF short film awards

Three movies by students from the Department of Film, Television and Scenography were awarded at the HIFF short film awards.

Student films from the Department of Film, Television and Scenography were awarded at the Helsinki International Film Festival Love & Anarchy, which ended yesterday. Aalto students won three of the four awards.

Iiti Yli-Harja's animation Real Men was awarded the HIFF’s short film main award R&A Shorts Award. Iiti Yli-Harja is on her second year in the animation master's program.

The first ever student award was given to Lauri-Matti Parppei’sThe Last Day. The award is accreditation to next year’s HIFF and its industry sidebar Finnish Film Affair. The film is Parppei's MA thesis film for the Department of Film, Television and Scenography.

In addition, Laura Rantanen's short documentary On Hold received an honorable mention from the jury.
