Aalto people made important research contributions in the Design Research Society DRS conference in Limerick, Ireland.

An unprecedented number of submissions from Aalto researchers were peer-reviewed and accepted for presentation and publication at this year’s DRS conference in June.

“This says a lot for the quality of our research and researchers. It also means Aalto researchers were highly visible and impactful within the conference and thus within the international design research community”, rejoices Ramia Mazé, Professor in Design Practices at Aalto University.

Two Aalto people were also invited as conference keynote sessions: Ramia Mazé as a keynote and Andrea Botero as a keynote moderator.

“I believe it’s the first time that Aalto people were involved in organizing two paper tracks at the conference, though Aalto people have always had great and proactive contributions”, says Mazé.

The conference is organized biannually by the University of Limerick and it is one of the main international research conferences internationally, it is both well-ranked and well-attended with 600 participants this year.

The DRS is a learned society committed to promoting and developing design research worldwide. Founded in 1966, it is the longest established, multi-disciplinary worldwide society for the design research community.
