Aalto Talent Expo 2021 was organized successfully both live & virtually

”Combining the virtual world and physical fair is absolutely a positive thing, keep at it!"

The live recruitment fair Aalto Talent Expo 2021 (organised in Otahalli) brought together 76 employer organizations and roughly 3 000 students from all Aalto schools. The physical fair was organized for the second time, following the successful live event Aalto Talent Expo 2019 & two fully virtual Aalto Talent Expo fairs.

In addition to the physical fair, students and employers had the option to meet virtually through JobTeaser. Students explored the "virtual stands" of exhibitors, participated in webinars and met employers during 1:1 video meetings. Additional program included help with job-seeking skills such as CV & LinkedIn -clinic, speed mentoring with Aalto alumni and portfolio review sessions also organised through JobTeaser. A total of 83 exhibitors joined the live and virtual fair combined.

The feedback from the event reveals that students were very pleased with the event. The live fair received a total grade of 4,4/5 from students. The grade for the virtual event was 4,1/5. Feedback from the exhibitors has also been quite positive: the total for the event from the exhibitors is 4,3/5.

This year, the organizers put emphasis on the visual side of the fair area, creating wide passage ways and utilising clever placing of the fair stands in order to create both an appealing and safe fair area. Exhibitors were also encouraged to order their fair stands with a branded wall, which brought cohesion and color to the hall. The printed walls worked well after the pandemic year, as many original fair materials may have been outdated. A number of exhibitors had targeted their branding directly toward the students of Aalto University!

"We were very pleased with the branded wall. The general look of the fair improved with many companies having branded walls. All in all, the fair was well organised and we were satisfied with the event. We reached a lot of students."

The Aalto Talent Expo team would like to kindly thank visitors and exhibitors for a successful fair day. The next recruitment event targeted towards all Aalto students is Summer Job Day organised in the Undergraduate center in Otaniemi on 20 January 2022. Welcome to Summer Job Day!
