Aalto University Archives opened in Finna
Aalto University Archives Finna is now open:
Finna contains documentary image archives, teaching materials, visual materials related to theses, student works and instruments used in teaching. The earliest materials are from late 19th century so the service also contains materials from Aalto University's predecessors University of Technology, Helsinki School of Economics and the University of Art and Design.
The Finna materials can be used in teaching, research, exhibitions and different kinds of publications. The document, image and object collections provide a unique insight into the University's activities, history and the development of disciplines over an extended period of time.
Materials can be searched in Aalto University Archive's Finna for instance with keywords by topics or creators, they can also be browsed with the help of highlighted themes and by collections. A logged-in user can save interesting items as favourites on their own user account. A favourites list can also be set as public allowing it to be shared easily for instance as teaching material.
The materials are also available in the joint service for Finnish libraries, archives and museums
