Aalto University has been nominated as one of Nokia Bell Labs’ Distinguished Academic Partners (DAP). Nokia Bell Labs seeks strategic cooperation with its academic partners in areas where Aalto University's expertise is world-class.
'The Distinguished Academic Partner program has been established by Nokia Bell Labs to bring the best and brightest minds together to solve the greatest human needs challenges,' says Julie Byrne, Nokia Bell Labs Distinguished Academic Partner Director.
'Aalto University is a world-leading partner and we are delighted to include them in our global network for delivering truly disruptive innovation, particularly in a broad range of 5G topics, from radio to analytics. We look forward to further strengthening our engagement with Aalto University through our DAP program', says Lauri Oksanen, Nokia Bell Labs VP Research and Technology.
'Aalto University is honoured to be nominated as a Nokia Bell Labs Distinguished Partner. The volume of cooperation between Nokia and Aalto has been significant over the years especially in communications engineering, but the DAP program will further strengthen our cooperation in the research areas like augmented intelligence and quantum technologies. Aalto University represents world class research in these fields. A good indicator for this is the frequently referred Shanghai ranking* where all mentioned Aalto research areas achieve excellent rankings', says Jyri Hämäläinen, professor, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering.
