Aalto University retains Finland’s #1 spot in QS ranking
Aalto University continued its success in the international QS World University Rankings, maintaining its position as the best university in Finland. Its global ranking was 113, compared to 109 in 2023.
In the QS ranking, universities are evaluated across nine indicators, each with slightly different weightings. Universities are assessed based on research citations, academic reputation, employer reputation, the proportion of international academic staff, graduate employability, sustainability, international research networks, student-to-faculty ratio, and the ratio of international students.
Aalto performed best in graduate employability (52nd place internationally) and sustainability (53rd place). Aalto University was ranked first in Finland in five areas.
The QS World Ranking evaluates the top 1,500 universities worldwide, and this year the top spot is again taken by the United States’ Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Depending on the calculation method, there are between 17,000 and 22,000 universities worldwide.
QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) is one of the world's most important university rankings. In addition to the general rankings, QS produces rankings in specific fields of science and regional rankings. These specific rankings are more relevant ÄûÃʵ¼º½ University than the general rankings, as Aalto specialises in technology, business and the arts.
