Accessible routes in Aalto Space application

Have you already noticed that in the Aalto Space app you can now also choose an accessible route for navigation? The new feature is available in the new version of the app released in autumn 2025.

The Aalto Space app is already used by almost ten thousand aaltonian each month. The app can primarily be used for booking spaces, but also for navigating the campus and giving feedback on facilities.

Now, the app also includes separate accessible routes from one place to another. You can find the accessible route option as follows:

  1. Search and choose the space you want to navigate
  2. Start navigation. In the lower part of the navigation window, there's a gear icon; tap the gear
  3. From the window that opens, select 'Accessible route' using the slider
  4. The selected setting will remain on automatically. If you want regular route guidance in the future, turn off the 'Accessible route' setting.

Accessible routes were mapped on the campus in the summer of 2025. If you notice any deficiencies in accessible navigation, please report them to aaltospace@aalto.fi.
