Call for Applications: PhD in Finance at Aalto University

The application period for doctoral studies in the Department of Finance is until January 16, 2017.

The Department of Finance calls for applications for PhD studies in Finance.

The Finance Department is strongly dedicated to research, as shown by a stream of research published in top Finance and Economics journals. The Department runs an excellent seminar series and is equipped with all major Finance databases. Close contact and interaction with the Aalto Finance Faculty ensure high quality PhD supervision in the several expertise areas of faculty members.

The 4-year Doctoral Program comprises course work, research seminars and a PhD dissertation. One and a half years at the beginning of the doctoral studies are devoted mostly to intensive course work that is then followed by research for the PhD dissertation. The core Finance PhD courses are organized by The Graduate School of Finance (GSF), the national PhD program hosted by Aalto University. The local courses are complemented by intensive Finance PhD courses organized within the Nordic Finance Network (NFN), which is a collaborative network for research and doctoral training among the Finance departments in Nordic Countries.
