Communication students and alumni came together

KY Communication, the organization for communication students, invited alumni back to School.
About 60 people, alumni, students and organizational communication faculty, met with old and new friends.

鈥淎nd they were happy to be back here!鈥 says Leena Louhiala-Salminen, Program Director of the Corporate Communication Master鈥檚 Program smilingly.  About 60 people, alumni, students and organizational communication faculty, met with old and new friends. In addition to walking down the memory lane towards the good old school times, the hot topics of corporate communication were discussed.

In the keynote address, the CEO of Pohjoisranta Burson Marstelles communications agency Clarisse Bergg氓rdh challenged her audience to think of the present pace of change in communication technology and media: never again will it be as slow as it is today!

She also noted that the traditional division between B2B and B2C communication is no longer relevant: today's communication is always H2H, human to human. In the present complex environment every communication and management professional needs to have a deep understanding of interpersonal communication, and be willing to learn more.

鈥淚鈥檓 very grateful to KY Communication and would love to see this as an annual event!  All parties gain: alumni & students learn about each other, faculty may invite alumni to visit their classes and all participants enhance their professional identity as experts in corporate and organizational communication鈥, Leena Louhiala-Salminen concludes.
