Department of Information and Service Management name change to take effect

The name change will harmonise name practices and facilitate communication with stakeholders.

At the School of Business the Department of Information and Service Management's name change will enter into force on 1 January 2018. Similarly, the Finnish name for the department will be Tieto- ja palvelujohtamisen laitos.

'We decided on the name change together with the students, members of staff and the Dean of the School of Business. The new name more clearly communicates what is studied and researched at the department,' says Professor Markku Kuula, who is head of the department.

After the name change, the name of the Department of Information and Service Management will correspond with that of one of the specialisation options for the Bachelor's degree programme as well as that of the Master's degree programme. In addition, the student organisation has changed its name ÄûÃʵ¼º½ ISM.

The department's staff can update the name of the Department of Information and Service Management to their e-mail signature, CV and other personal channels. Systems shared by all of Aalto University, such as ACRIS and Aalto People, will be updated centrally in January.

The Department of Information and Service Management researches the creative utilisation of information and technology in business management and economic analysis.
