On 11 June 2020, the President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, awarded Jarmo Wilander, the director of construction development at Aalto University Campus & Real Estate, the honorary title of rakennusneuvos for his extensive and diverse career and experience in management positions in the construction and real estate industry.

Wilander has worked in Aalto University's ambitious campus investment program as a developer and implemented several award-winning new construction and renovation projects. These projects include e.g. Väre, School of Business and A Bloc shopping center as well as renovations of the Undergraduate Centre, Dipoli, Harald Herlin Learning Centre and startup hub A Grid.

At the beginning of his career, Wilander worked in new construction and renovation projects in management positions, from where he moved to property ownership and investment activities. Among his most significant projects, Wilander has been responsible for the management and implementation of Suomen Posti Oy's logistics centers, the renovation of the former Main Post Office (Helsinki 10) and the planning and implementation of the passenger terminal and Gate-House projects in the Vuosaari logistics area.

Wilander has worked at Aalto University Campus & Real Estate as a construction manager since 2009.

On 11 June, the President of the Republic of Finland awarded 60 honorary titles. In Finland's 100-year history, less than 200 honorary titles of rakennusneuvos have been awarded.

Warm congratulations to Jarmo Wilander on the honorary title of rakennusneuvos!
