Elements of Success Conference, Dec. 4-5, 2017

The department is organizing an international conference ”Elements of Success - rethinking audience and production studies as practice” on Dec. 4-5, 2017. The event will take place at the premises of the Finnish Film Foundation.

We are interested in film-making processes, film production cultures and contemporary film audiences. The focus is on the actual film-making process and the factors that contribute to a film’s success. The aim is to facilitate decision-making and contribute to the business know-how of film production companies. Theoretically, we are interested in conceptualising the film production processes and contemporary film audiences as practice. The main spekears are Professor John Caldwell from the UCLA and Eva Novrup Redvall from the University of Copenhagen. The call for abstract closes on August 30, 2017.
