Scopus AI

Scopus is Elsevier's abstract and citation database, which has an add-on using generative artificial intelligence called Scopus AI. It is designed specifically for the academic community. Based on reliable and peer-reviewed content, Scopus AI provides support for research or study-related information retrieval.

Scopus AI is accessible from a separate tab on the Scopus homepage and it allows you to make freely formulated search requests in different languages, including Finnish. Scopus AI retrieves answers from the references in the database and provides a short summary of the topic with source references. The answers are based on references published in 2003 or later. You can explore the topic further via an extended summary, concept map, basic publications in the research area, or the expert section on the topic. Additionally, exploration of the topic can be enhanced with pre-offered additional questions. In August 2025, a new Deep Research section utilizing Agentic AI was launched.

Web of Science Research Assistant

The Web of Science database features an add-on using generative AI, known as Research Assistant, located in the top menu of the service. It allows you to explore specific topics and efficiently start drafting a literature review. The tool aids in finding a suitable academic journal for publication and identifying experts in the field. The new Literature Review 2.0 section uses Agentic AI to interact with users about search-related parameters.
