Firewall installations will cause network breaks - update 28 Feb

During the following Sundays (4, 11 and 18 March) there will be breaks in Aalto wireless and wired networks between 9 am – 9 pm and the breaks can be long lasting.

However, teleoperators’ networks (mobile data) will be working normally in Aalto premises.

Network breaks will affect all IT systems in Aalto networks: email, network storage, VPN and all other services will be unavailable during the breaks.

We request you to contact IT services, if teaching or research activities need working network connections on the mentioned days. The breaks will be re-scheduled then.

Aalto ITS will install a centralized Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) solution in order to improve the security of Aalto IT environment. With NGFW, Aalto’s network will fulfill modern security requirements. Devices and data will be better protected against unauthorized use or leaks.
