Foundations grant EUR 190,000 ʵ's researchers

Eight Finnish foundations and funds gave altogether 143 grants for research and development in the field of technology at the event organised by the Technology Academy Finland Foundation on 4 April 2017.

The total sum of the grants was EUR 1,421,208. Altogether EUR 184,680 was granted ʵ University's researchers.

The grant of the K. H. Renlundin säätiö Foundation is one of the four largest grants of EUR 30,000 given to the School of Engineering Assistant Professor Mika Järvinen for his research on dissolving valuable metals from industrial waste. His research is called “Recovery and recycling of valuable minerals from industrial waste by selective dissolution – experiments and modeling”.

A large K. H. Renlundin säätiö Foundation grant of EUR 22,000 is given to Maija Jylhä-Ollila from the School of Engineering, who studies the long-term effects of artificial groundwater formation. In addition, The K. H. Renlundin säätiö Foundation grants EUR 50,000 to the geoscience departments of five universities, including Aalto.

A total of 25 Aalto researchers will receive a Walter Ahlström Foundation grant for their doctoral dissertation researches. View the grant recipients here:

The Runar Bäckströmin Foundation grants EUR 15,000 to the Aalto students’ start-up enterprise Avanto Technologies for developing infrared-heated clothing technology.
