Succeeding in solutions business is challenging, requires new capabilities and deeper customer relationships.

at Aalto School of Science, together with the FIMECC Futis and S4Fleet research programs organized its second annual spring seminar on industrial services on April 23 in Otaniemi.

Succeeding in solutions business is challenging, requires new capabilities, deeper customer relationships, and comes with a higher cost of sales, and risks for profitability. Over 130 people from business and academia participated in the lively discussion on innovative service business inspired by case examples focusing on industrial value creation and industrial internet applications.

The morning focused on “Creating value with industrial solutions”, and featured presentations from research partners Valmet Technologies, Ramentor, Volvo Construction Systems and Ericsson followed by two separate workshop streams in the afternoon. The workshops topics were "Business intelligence framework for solutions business” and "Value-based Business Model of industrial solutions”. The SEM group researchers facilitated the event and contributed with presentations. The event successfully demonstrated how to connect research findings with business results.
