Get to know the Aalto Code of Conduct through an online course

Code of Conduct training aimed at all employees helps to choose suitable operating methods in the everyday life of the university.

Aalto University published the Code of Conduct operating principles regarding the whole community last autumn. They are designed to clarify what working according to common values means in practice – in other words, they create the Aalto community rules of ‘Fair Play’.

Now an online course has been published to support the understanding of the Code of Conduct. It gives you a chance to learn the purpose and content of the Code of Conduct principles, but also to deepen your knowledge with case examples relating to everyday life at the university.

‘Aalto University is made up of fantastic people with a wide variety of backgrounds, which is an invaluable asset. The Code of Conduct help us create a common operating culture and thus a better working and studying environment for everyone’, says President Ilkka Niemelä. ‘The university’s aim is that each member of the Aalto community agrees to follow these principles. We encourage all members of the Aalto community to complete the online course, as it is an easy and practical way to learn more about joint operating principles.’

The online course and its case studies are directed at employees, but other community members can also complete the course via MyCourses. It takes about 15 minutes to complete the course. A similar online training for students is scheduled for publication later in cooperation with Aalto University Student Union (AYY).
