Helsinki Challenge – science-based idea competition. Apply now!

Now, it is time to put together teams as the registration for the competition is by 31.10. The actual competition entry must be submitted by 15.11.

Aalto University is one of the idea competition organisers, which brings the different actors of the scientific community and society together to solve the great problems in the world. The competition is an important part of Aalto University in Finland 100 centennial context. are linked to the UN's sustainable development goals. The idea competition prize is 375,000 euros.

Now, it is time to put together teams as the for the competition is by 31.10. The actual must be submitted by 15.11.

The jury of the final stage will first choose the finalists from among the semi-finalists, and then the winner/winners, who will be announced in December 2017.

Why?

Helsinki Challenge is building the well-being solutions of the future through collaboration. It strengthens the scientific community's interaction with the different actors of society and simultaneously develops the participants’ skills in building partnerships, obtaining research funding, and making their research visible.

For whom?

Solutions are generated in multidisciplinary teams consisting of members from the science and art communities, business, the public and the third sector, the media, and society. Each team has representatives from both universities and other organisations.

During the application stage, there are Challenge clinics, in which you are provided with additional information about the competition. The last clinic in Helsinki is on Wed 12.10. at 15–17 at the University of Helsinki, Siltavuorenpenger 5A. You can follow a from the event.

The University of Helsinki organises the competition in collaboration with Aalto University, Hanken School of Economics, University of Eastern Finland, University of Jyväskylä, University of Oulu, University of the Arts Helsinki, University of Turku, University of Vaasa and Åbo Akademi University. Helsinki Challenge is part of the Finland 100 anniversary's programme. determines the collaboration policies and Ira Leväaho acts as project manager.
