New collective agreement for universities

The resolution for the General Collective Agreement for the Universities was reached on 6 March 2018.

The agreement is valid from 1 Feb 2018 until 31 March 2020. The new agreement covers e.g. the following changes.

Salary increases

General increases will be paid as of 1 April 2018 (1.0 %) and as of 1 April 2019 (1.1 %). In addition there will be two arranged / local instalments: 1.1.2019 (0.5 %) and 1.6.2019 (0.85 %). These will be used for changing the University Salary System (YPJ). Euro-dominated salaries (not YPJ salaries) will be raised accordingly.

Changes in the University Salary System (YPJ)

Renewal of salary system will be dealt with in the wage system working group. Changes will take place as of 1 Jan 2019. If the parties do not reach an agreement by 30 September, 0.3 percentage units of the arranged instalment will be left unpaid.

In addition to the wage system working group, there will be working groups for working hours and annual holiday, use of fixed-term employment contracts and occupational well-being and occupational health and safety.
