Number of applicants increased - Study place for over 1600 new students

Admission results of the joint application for higher education have been published on 28 June in the Studyinfo service. The applicants can check their admission results by logging into the My Studyinfo service at .
In the joint application for higher education, for which the application period ended in March, altogether 11 901 applicants applied ÄûÃʵ¼º½ University. In 2017, there were 9 983 applicants which means that the number of applicants increased by 19%.
This year, a total of 5 581 applicants applied for the field of business and economics, 2 044 for study options in the field of art and design, and 4 832 for the field of science and technology. The same person may have applied to several different fields and to several study options. Aalto University was the first choice alternative as a study destination for 62% of applicants.
The most popular study options this year were economics and business administration; visual communication design, art education and fashion in the field of art and design; and architecture, industrial engineering and management and computer science in the field of science and technology.
In addition to study options in Finnish and Swedish, Aalto University offers three study options in English. The International Business Programme had 773 applicants, and the two English-language study options in science and technology, Data Science and Digital Systems and Design, had 594 applicants.
In the 2018 joint application for higher education, there are altogether 1 641 study places available in the Bachelor’s programmes at Aalto University. As a result of the placement run which is done in the national Studyinfo service, the applicant is usually offered only one study place. The placement covers all the study options of the universities and the universities of applied sciences, which are included in the joint application for higher education, and it ends on 31 July 2018.
The National Agency for Higher Education will inform the results in the Studyinfo service (Opintopolku) and by an email to all the applicants.
