Open Call for OpenART Biennale 2019

OpenART is Scandinavia’s biggest public art biennial taking place in Örebro, Sweden. It is now calling for professional artists to apply for summer 2019.

OpenART is a public art biennial where contemporary art from all over the world is showcased in the public space for twelve summer weeks. The Biennale is now searching for artists with different backgrounds, art mediums and expressions to bring their artworks to Örebro. Artists can submit with an already existing artwork or a new idea.

The OpenART exhibition takes place in the city centre of Örebro and art will be placed outdoors available for public interaction day and night during the exhibition period. The Biennale is looking forward to a wide range of art mediums and techniques but welcoming especially artworks for the open space and in particular new ideas on what public art can be.

Open Call is open from 15 March through 15 May. Open Call is an application where professional artists can submit their artworks, both already existing as well as new ideas. Invited artists will receive an artist fee of 1 000 EUR and transport, travel and accommodation support. The submission fee is 150 SEK.
