TUTA Open positions

Recruiting a PhD student or post-doc with skills in structural equation modeling for a 6 month project on self-organizing and work engagement

In a project funded by The Finnish Work Environment Fund and conducted at Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University, we aim to examine the level of self-management in Finnish organizations and how that is related to their work engagement and burnout. The main investigators in the project are Frank Martela (Aalto), Jari Hakanen (Työterveyslaitos), Johanna Vuori (Haaga-Helia), and Marina Biniari (Aalto).

The empirical part of the study consists of collecting a N = 2000 nationally representative sample of Finnish workers. This will be the first survey ever to examine national levels of self-management in Finland and its relation to various supportive factors and demographics.

We are now recruiting a person to take responsibility of the data analysis. The analysis will start in October 2020. We have funding for six months for this position, which means the period from October to the end of March next year. We are also willing to consider good candidates that can commit to only a shorter time period, e.g. until the end of this year.

Key criteria for the person we are looking for are:

* A proven ability to conduct analyses of large samples utilizing structural equation modeling and similar statistical techniques

* Interest in the topics of self-management and work engagement

In addition to conducting the analyses, the candidate is naturally invited to be part of the academic publications resulting from these analyses.

We look forward to receiving the applications latest Friday 21st of August. Please send your application to: frank.martela@aalto.fi

For questions and inquiries about the position, contact Frank Martela: Frank.martela@aalto.fi, +358 50 5707916
