Over 3000 open access journal articles and conference proceedings available in Aalto University’s repository
Open access articles are available to any interested reader in the university faculty, private sector and the general public.
As research funders, such as European Commission, Academy of Finland and Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation (Tekes), are interested in maximizing the benefits for the society, they are posing demands on the open availability of the works produced in the projects they fund. Open access publishing may also enhance the researcher’s visibility in research assessment exercises, as studies suggest a Web of Science citation advantage favoring opened articles versus traditional available-by subscription articles [1].
Do you know that you are able to continue publishing in established journals and open your accepted manuscripts from Aalto’s repository? This is allowed by all largest international publishers without any additional fees. Publishing your works open access has never been easier!
Just upload your accepted manuscript to ACRIS research information system. For more detailed instructions, please see the links below. You will need this know-how also to comply with the open access requirements of different research funders mentioned above.
After issuing a policy regarding open access publishing in the summer of 2014, Aalto University has moved towards more open publishing as a one of the fastest moving universities in Finland. A total of over 3000 open access journal articles and conference proceedings are currently available in Aalto’s repository including circa 22% of all Aalto-affiliated journal articles published in 2016.
