Partnership Services and Fundraising to merge

Aalto University’s Partnership Services and Fundraising will merge into a new Advancement and Corporate Engagement unit.

The unit will be led by Director Teppo Heiskanen, who will report to President Tuula Teeri. Partnership Services was previously part of Research and Innovation Services and Fundraising was part of Financial Services.

The new unit has four teams:
-          Corporate  Relations
-          Fundraising
-          Alumni Relations and Career and Recruitment Services
-          Data Management and Analysis (CRM development and prospect research).

The new organisation should start its operations on 1 March. At the moment, the roles in the unit are being discussed, and two managerial positions will be in open for applications. The unit will employ about 25 people.

‘Partnerships and fundraising are closely linked and their cooperation has always been good. Our aim is now to provide an even clearer service entity to our external partners. Partnerships and fundraising continue to be carried out both in the Schools and at the level of the University,’ says Teppo Heiskanen.

Companies disclose more on cybersecurity – but markets remain indifferent

U.S. companies are reporting on cybersecurity in greater detail, yet stock market reactions remain muted. A new study by the University of Vaasa and Aalto University shows that mandatory cybersecurity disclosure does not prompt reactions from investors or stock analysts. Instead, the main benefits appear to materialise within firms themselves.
