Paula Jouhten appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems
The field of the professorship is Microbial Physiology. The five-year term begins on 1 January 2022.

Paula Jouhten (D.Sc. Tech.) has been appointed a five-year, fixed-term Associate Professor position in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems as of 1 January 2022.
Jouhten received her doctorate from the Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University) in 2009. She is currently working as a Research Team Leader at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.
‘Paula Jouhten combines both computational and experimental approaches in her research, and I consider this a very powerful combination. She has proven herself to be a successful scientist, therefore I enthusiastically look forward to her joining our School,’ says the Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering Kristiina Kruus.
