In the years 1956–59, Jääskeläinen studied at Yale University in the United States and completed a Master of Arts degree there. In Finland, he graduated with a licentiate in business in 1965 and received his doctorate in business at the School of Economics in 1967.

The business school's executive education activities became strongly internationalized and were incorporated during Veikko Jääskeläinen's rectorship in 1996 into JOKO Executive Education Oy. The School of Business highly values Veikko Jääskeläinen's career, including his significant efforts to increase the internationality of the School of Business. We remember Veikko Jääskeläinen fondly both as a colleague and as a friend.
