Professor Kai Virtanen operations researcher of the year 2015
The Finnish Operations Research Society has chosen Kai Virtanen as the Operations researcher of the year.
Kai Virtanen is from Aalto University’s Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis.
The Society states that a Researcher of the year has with their work improves the applications and theories in operations research.
Kai Virtanen got his Masters of Science in 1996 and his doctor’s degree in 2005 from Helsinki University of Technology. He has for a long time been a member of staff at the Systems analysis laboratory at the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis and in 2013 he was named Professor of Practice. He is also a docent at The Finnish National Defense University.
