Professor Lasse Niemi appointed General Secretary of EARNet
Professor of Accounting Lasse Niemi has been appointed as the General Secretary of the European Auditing Research Network EARNet. This network was founded in 2000 to further enhance the quality of European auditing research by combining research efforts and co-ordinating research activities, and to realise synergies provided by the variety within the European research community.
The objectives of the network are to promote European auditing research and to contribute to European policy making. The network also organizes a yearly EARNet Symposium.
‘Naturally I feel that it is a great honour to be nominated to this position, and I will do my best to advance and promote European auditing research’, Professor Niemi says.
‘As EARNet has members around the world, I believe that this nomination will increase the international visibility of our School among those who are interested in auditing and related research.’
