REWATER
Water management in agriculture is facing increasing challenges due to climate change, resource depletion, and growing demand. At Aalto University, we are aiming to develop smart water management solutions to ensure sustainable agricultural water management in a changing climate in the newly funded Interreg Aurora project REWATER.
Objectives:
Data Management & Modelling:
1. Develop advanced digital tools for real-time water monitoring.
2. Utilize predictive modelling to optimize water distribution.
3. Improve data-driven decision-making in agricultural water use.
Smart Drainage & Irrigation:
1. Implement precision irrigation techniques to enhance water efficiency.
2. Design adaptive drainage systems that respond to changing climatic conditions.
3. Integrate IoT-based automation for better resource allocation.
Stakeholder Participation:
1. Foster collaboration between farmers, policymakers, researchers, and water authorities.
2. Promote knowledge-sharing and co-creation of sustainable water management strategies.
3. Support policy development through inclusive dialogue and participatory planning.
