Riikka Korte new Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis

Korte’s research focuses on analysis of metric measure spaces and nonlinear evolutionary partial differential equations. In analysis of metric spaces, the researchers try to extend results from for example classical harmonic analysis, geometric measure theory and theory of partial differential to work in this very general setting. Korte’s research is very theory-based, but the results can be applied analysis in many different settings, such as various manifolds and groups.
Korte got her doctoral degree in 2008 from the Department of Mathematics at Helsinki University of Technology. In the beginning of 2009 she moved to the University of Helsinki’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics for a three year period as a postdoctoral researcher. The next year she spent as a visiting researcher at Scuola Normale Suporiore di Pisa in Italy. After her visit in Italy, she continued as an Academy of Finland postdoc at HU.
