Support for students impacted by the crisis in the Middle East

The university supports and helps students in dealing with the crisis

The military activity and crisis in the Middle East are deeply distressing particularly for members of our community with connections to the area. They now need understanding and support from the university and the whole community. The crisis may have risen, and may continue to rise, many kinds of conflicting thoughts and emotions.

Crisis support is available, when needed, from the following providers

  • Should you face any problems or questions arising from the situation during your studies, please write to support@aalto.fi. A multi-professional team will read and treat all messages from students and staff on a confidential basis.
  • Aalto chaplains provide services for everyone in the Aalto community. You can have a confidential conversation with a chaplain regardless of your worldview or religion. You can turn to them to talk about a personal issue in your own life or about a matter relating to the community.
  • The Crisis Helpline of MIELI Mental Health Finland:
  • MIELI Crisis Centre Helsinki:
  • Crisis and social services for Western Uusimaa:
  • Crisis emergency services for Helsinki:
  • provides supportive conversations and crisis support to people under age 30.
