Two films from Aalto University students were awarded at this year's Tampere Film Festival. Rose Garden (Ruusukoto), directed by Hannu-Pekka Peltomaa, was awarded the Diploma of Merit in the National Competition and the Uusi Kino prize, an audience award. It is an "inventive and original take on modern elderly care", according to the festival organizers.
