University Review guides the planning process

The Presidents Management Team gathered in March for the annual University Review.

The event reviewed last year’s performance and examined the development of the key indicators. The management team also assessed, how the university strategy implementation has succeeded.

The management team gave schools and services guidelines for the 2019-2022 planning. President Ilkka Niemelä thanked the community for excellent advancement in academic activities. The results have increased significantly since 2010.  Niemelä noted that the development of publication numbers and quality as well as external funding need to be followed as progress has slowed down slightly in recent years.  Bachelor student intake needs to be reviewed and the degree targets overall reconsidered.

The university review is an important part of the university quality system and long-term planning. The planning process has been revised this year and tied stronger than before to other annual clock processes. The resource and strategy dialogues will both be organised in the spring, the planning period will be four years and the university review observations will be utilized in the planning process.
