University Wide Art Studies is looking for courses!

Are you interested in teaching a trandisciplinary arts-based course that is open for all Aalto students?

University Wide Art Studies (UWAS) is an elective course portfolio that offers courses on art, design and creativity for students across disciplines. Whether you are interested in experimenting with new teaching methods or expanding your field of knowledge beyond your discipline, then UWAS is for you!

Following Aalto鈥檚 new study planning schedule, UWAS is now looking for courses for academic years 2018-19 and 2019-20. We鈥檙e specifically looking for courses that deal with one of the following thematic categories:

Global and Local Issues
Sites and Environments
Crises and Turning Points
Senses
Materials
Narratives
Technologies

The aim of these categories is to encourage a thematic approach to transdisciplinary education and show how UWAS courses are connected to social, societal, or environmental questions.

Are you non-ARTS faculty and interested in getting involved? UWAS also offers support for you to develop new courses or revamp existing ones.

More information about UWAS can be found from . You鈥檒l find a link to the course proposal form under 鈥淐ourse Proposals: Web Ropol鈥 or directly here

PLEASE SEND YOUR PROPOSALS BY DECEMBER 20 2017.

If you have any questions about UWAS or a yet unformulated idea for a course, don鈥檛 hesitate to contact the UWAS working group: Professor Harri Laakso (harri.laakso@), Project Manager, Postdoctoral Researcher Juuso Tervo (juuso.tervo@), and Planning Officer Mari Kekola (mari.kekola@).
