Description of the programme

Master's Programme in Manufacturing is organized by the School of Engineering.

The Master's Programme in Manufacturing is the local implementation of at Aalto University. The programme leads, upon successful completion, to two officially recognized Master of Science Degrees (120 ECTS) issued by the entry university and the exit university (double degree).

Succesful graduates are awarded an . The Certificate is based on the two degrees issued by the partner institutions and summarizes the EIT label and EIT Manufacturing Master School specific characteristics of the education.

Aalto University School of Engineering offers two study tracks in EIT Manufacturing Master School (see pages for applicant below): 

  • Additive Manufacturing for Full Flexibility
  • Zero Defect Manufacture for a Circular Economy

The application period for studies starting in autumn 2025 is open until 31 March 2025.

EIT Manufacturing Master’s programme is a second double degree programme for German Julian Wesch, who completed his Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering in Germany and Mexico. Before his studies at Aalto University, he studied for one year at the University College Dublin, Ireland for his Master’s.

Maleeha Maqbool had already worked eight years in manufacturing industry in her home country Pakistan before starting the Master’s programme. Starting studies in a double degree Master’s programme was the first time student Fabrizio Valdivia moved abroad

Bolivian Fabrizio Valdivia combines his Master’s studies in Aalto University and University College Dublin. He is writing his thesis with a Finnish company and plans to learn from the industry in Europe and then apply that knowledge in his home country to create development and opportunities.

Master's Programme in Manufacturing and its Additive Manufacturing for Full Flexibility major are a combination of production science, mechanical design and production management. This is an international double degree programme supported by EIT Manufacturing that includes studying in two different countries and a minor in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Zero Defect Manufacture for Circular Economy (ZD) is a combination of studying manufacturing science, data analysis, and process management. Master's Programme in Manufacturing is an international double degree pgoramme supported by EIT Manufacturing. The programme includes studying in two different countries and a minor in Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
